FARMERS ARE WORRIED 😳

We hope you had a great week!
We had a week of worry- and here is WHY..
As many of you may have heard, the diesel fuel reserves in this country are winding down....
Some reports have said that within the next 23-days the supplies will be down to almost nothing...
That worries farmers big time..
As a matter of fact many farmers are strategizing on what they are going to do should this happen..
You see, in the farming world, everything runs on diesel fuel from tractors to transport trucks to trailers used to keep meat cold!
The machinery is heavy machinery and requires the power of diesel fuel to make things go since all the loads we move are heavy...
Why do we share this with you today?
Because it is really important.
For us, a small farm, we have the same issues as the big farms but on a smaller scale..
We truck our animals using vehicles powered by diesel...
We feed our animals hay using tractors that are fueled by diesel...
We store your meat until your are ready to pick up in a freezer unit powered by diesel...
So what are we doing to prepare?
We have 500 gallon tanks that are getting filled for reserves to get us through the season...
What should you do?
Well, the truth is all food in this country is brought to your stores by trucks that are fueled by diesel as well..
So start prepping and buy a little extra of things when you do shop...
Also, think about pulling the trigger on a large chest freezer or even a standup...
It is very important to have your proteins in full supply...
One of our customers called yesterday for (3) butchered pigs to set him up for the winter...
Another customer last week ordered a whole cow and a whole pig so she could keep her reserves high..
This is really something to consider...
We are here for you and will be butchering every week until we run out of supply!

We dropped off a whole cow and a 1/4 to one of our favorite customers on Long Island yesterday- and it feels good to know how much they appreciate it but even better to know they are fully stocked for whatever comes ahead of us..

Ok- this is not an email to freak anybody out, but remember, farmers often hear things first and feel things at the ground level before the general population...
So this is a message that says: GET PREPARED...
We certainly are.

We have 13 customer pick-ups today at the farm so it is going to be a wonderful day of meeting folks from Syracuse to South Jersey to Long Island to Rockland County!
All coming to the farm to see where their food is sourced from!
